President – Myriam Mondestin-Sorrentino, MD (Mercer)           

Dr. Mondestin is a physician who is triple board certified in both OB/GYN, maternal fetal medicine and obesity medicine.  She holds a certificate of executive leadership from the Wharton School.

She holds voluntary faculty clinical appointment at both Jefferson and Rutgers Medical School which gives her the privilege to contribute to the education of medical students and physicians in training. 

She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, an active member of various prestigious organizations including SMFM, AIUM, OMA, MSNJ.  She is an alternate delegate at the AMA and the president of the Mercer Middlesex County Medical Society. 

After nearly 20 years as an employed physician in academic medicine, Dr Mondestin founded the Princeton Perinatal Institute which gives her the opportunity to provide personalized high risks pregnancy services to a broad range of patients. 

Dr Mondestin has traveled to numerous countries around the world and fluently speaks French, Spanish and Creole. Her life experiences and her expertise allow her to care for a broad range of patient demographic with an empathy that is rare to find.

 

Vice President-Elect-Shivam Mital. MD (Middlesex)

 Dr. Shivam Mital is an Anesthesiologist in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and is currently affiliated with St. Peter's University Hospital.  He graduated with honors in 2015 and has more than 9 years of diverse experience as a dual board-certified Internist and Anesthesiologist.  He enjoys teaching and mentoring the next generation of physicians, providing a wonderful experience to his patients, and traveling with family.

 

Treasurer Steven Orland, MD (Mercer)

Dr. Steven Orland was born in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, in 1955. He graduated #2 in his class from Cherry Hill High School West in 1973. He then attended Princeton University, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude in 1977 with his Bachelor of Arts degree. He then attended Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City, and graduated Alpha Omega Alpha with his medical degree in 1981. He followed with a two-year general surgery residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and then completed a four-year residency in urology at the same institution, finishing in 1987. He was initially certified by the American Board of Urology in 1989 and has been recertified by the same board 3 times, and is currently certified through 2029. After residency, he engaged in the private practice of urology in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and Mercer County, New Jersey, for the next 36 years, finally retiring on 1/1/2024. 

During and after his practice years, Dr. Orland has always been involved in organized medicine. He has been president of the Mercer County Medical Society twice, and in May 2022, he was installed as the 230th President of the Medical Society of New Jersey. He is currently a member of the MSNJ Board of Trustees, as well as a member of the MSNJ delegation to the AMA. In addition, he is a member of numerous other societies, including the American Urological Association, the Philadelphia Urological Society, the Bucks County Medical Society, the Pennsylvania Medical Society, and of course the AMA. He is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a fellow of the Academy of Medicine of New Jersey.

 

Secretary -Steven Richards, MD (Middlesex) 

Dr. Steven Richards is a graduate of Cornell University and Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Richards completed both his surgical internship and urologic residency at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, NY.

Dr. Steven Richards is Board Certified in Urology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also a Member of the American Urologic Association and the American Association of Clinical Urologists.

He is a past president of the Middlesex County Medical Society and an active member of the Medical Society of New Jersey.

He has been voted Top Doctor by Castle Connolly every year since 2008.
